Scheepjes CKAL 2024 - Bullfinch Blanket
The designs of the Dawn Chorus CKAL are inspired by birds: each kit pays tribute to a beautiful songbird that wakes you in the morning with its melody.
We are now introducing our second kit, the Blue Tit Cushion by Liz Barraclough. This inspiring kit is suitable for both intermediate and advanced crafters and includes all the yarns necessary for both crochet and knitting patterns.
Inside the attractively presented kit, participants will find the required yarn, a quality tapestry needle, a cute organiser for the embroidery yarn and some fun free extras to enhance the CKAL experience. Scheepjes will be providing links with ideas on creative ways to use these!
Liz Barraclough’s designs beautifully combine stitching techniques with knitting or crochet, highlighting the remarkable colours of this sweet bird. Throughout the CKAL, to complement the free patterns and charts, Liz will publish blogposts and Instagram posts with helpful tips, including videos and extra photos.
In the Official Scheepjes Facebook Group, participants will be able to share their progress and enjoy support and encouragement from the designer, moderators and fellow members.
The very first Scheepjes CAL was released 10 years ago. Scheepjes is celebrating this with no less than four new projects. What's extra special this time is that you can crochet or knit all these projects! So you can pick either a Crochet-A-Long (CAL) or a Knit-A-Long (KAL). The Dawn Chorus CKAL Experience is a tribute to the most beautiful songbirds.
After the beautiful Goldcrest Scarf (item no. CKAL2024-GC) by Martin Up North, it is Liz Barraclough's turn. She designed the Blue Tit Cushion for the second kit from the Dawn Chorus CKAL series, a wonderfully soft and stylish cushion inspired by the brightly coloured blue tit. The pattern is suitable for intermediate to advanced crocheters and knitters. You can crochet or knit the cushion cover in a solid blue colour. For the crocheted version, you then work with cross stitches and for the knitted version with duplicate stitches to add a coloured image, motif of the blue tit to the cushion cover. You make the Blue Tit cushion with Scheepjes Scrumptious (50% Recycled Polyester and 50% Acrylic) and Scheepjes Cahlista (100% Cotton). In addition to the yarn, the kit also contains several nice extras.
Starting date of the CKAL: April 17, 2024
